I received my superfino plantation fedora a couple of weeks ago. It's my first panama hat ever so I do not have any basis for comparison, but the quality appears to be excellent. The weave is fine, even and tight, and the brim edge has been fastened off very carefully. The color of the hat is beautiful, natural yellow-white just as I imagined it to be.
The sturdy balsa box had protected the hat well. Ordering through the main ordering system would have been easy, but I finally encountered some problems with paying.Apparently Wells Fargo dislikes non-U.S. credit cards, but Casey kindly walked me through the secondary ordering form and an alternate paying method.

I must sincerely commend him on his service to individual customers. He really made this customer feel important. I must confess that I had some qualms about purchasing such an expensive (for me!), personal item through the net from an unknown vendor from another continent, but everything went well. I got what I ordered, and the delivery time was what was promised. In my experience, if you want a quality panama hat at a bargain, Panama Hats Direct is a good choice.

Hello Casey, My Hat arrived today. I ordered the sub fino and the grade suggest that it would be something less than the best but the workmanship is beautiful. I can't imagine how the better grade hats would look and feel. It has always been a problem for me to get a hat that fits correctly. This hat fits like a glove. The weather is begining to warm up in NC so the timing is perfect. I anticipate ordering another finer grade hat in the very near future, so I will be in touch. I'm glad I mentioned my trouble with the original form, as I am now the proud owner of the finest hat I have ever seen! My new plantation hat super fino took a while to get but is worth waiting for and easily worth the price. Nothing else so fine around here. The quality of the weaving goes well beyond my expectations and I can hardly imagine anything better. But I have read, on other sites, of hats as selling for as much as $10,000 or even $20,000. What would those look like. I think, next time I will try one of Casey's special reserves.

I just received my Fedora fino Panama hat from Casey. The hat is beautiful. I was struck with how light it is and how tight the weave even for a fino..can't image what the super fino and fino fino would be like..... like butter I bet! The color and weave patterns of the straw is quite interesting as it is beautiful.....a work of art. From a service point of view, I appreciated Casey providing me with both the brown leather band and the black cloth band. It is tough deciding which one looks better, they both look good on the hat. The website was very informative, interesting to read and easy to order. While I did have trouble getting my size to record on the electronic order form, a simple email to Casey with my size pulled it all together. I ordered the balsa hat box...well worth the little extra cost...and had the hat delivered by the standard shipping method.
